Why Go Back To School? Ask Margie...
Michael Giudicissi

Our economy is recovering (depending on who you listen to). The landscape of healthcare is changing (and about to change even more rapidly). Medicare is proposing this, Medicaid is proposing that....and the private insurers are proposing the exact opposite of what you want.

On the private duty front we are sitting at the threshold of the largest ever private transfer of wealth as the baby boomers age up...and begin to pass their accumulated wealth along to their kids.

Hospice programs are springing up all across our nation...not to serve the patients that your hospice already takes care of...but to serve the estimated 49% of people who should AT LEAST be offered hospice as an option, but never are.

The DME world is also going through significant changes now with the DMEPOS Competitive Bidding process.

Regardless of what area of home care you serve....are you up to date on these changes and how they may affect you? Are you prepared to make the key strategic alliances to help your agency succeed in 2010 and beyond? Have you set yourself apart with a professional, unique selling message to keep from being seen like every other agency out there?

Don't worry....we're here to help.

I finish off all of my public programs with a story about my friend Margie. Some of you that have attended may remember her. Margie represents the tens of thousands of people...young, old and everywhere in between...that need home care...but have never received a referral.

Margie

That's my fault....totally. (well...it's a little of Suzan's too)

We haven't reached enough people (yet) to help you understand what your job truly is. Your job is to help referral sources "open the lens" of the way they see home care. It's your responsibility to make sure that no one passes their keen eye without being referred to an area of our industry that they need in order to stay safe, comfortable and independent in the place they most want to be...their home.

We've seen thousands of you this year....but it's simply not enough.

I spent part of last week with Next Level Home Care CEO Gary Oppedahl. Gary's presentations focused a lot on one word, one concept that will drive greatness.

Passion.

Gary asked us to discover our true passion and write it down. You know what I wrote on my paper?

Margie.

Yes, I love meeting all of you, speaking and training, working with agency owners to help them achieve their dreams....but for me it all came back to one thing....

I need to help you get out there and help Margie...and everyone like her.

Now we have a way to make sure you are completely prepared to represent your agency in the best possible light. We have designed the most complete home care sales training program on the planet. Fo us, for you and for Margie we have built The University of Home Care Sales.

We're totally invested in your success. You think you "just work in sales or marketing"? Come and vist the faculty at The "U" and we'll prove you wrong....we'll teach you how to do a LOT more than that.

Register for a "semester" right now and we'll prove it to you.
